How can you peel garlic easily and quickly?

Martha Stewart, a Polish-origin American businesswoman and author of numerous cookbooks, first revealed her dependable garlic peeling method on "The Martha Stewart Show". This trick only requires two kitchen bowls, preferably made of stainless steel. Ideally, one bowl should be slightly smaller than the other, but using two bowls of the same size will work as well.

Begin by breaking up an entire head of garlic into individual cloves. This can be done traditionally or following Stewart's method, which entails placing the entire head of garlic in the larger bowl. Then forcefully hit the top of the garlic with the smaller, upside-down bowl. In doing so, the cloves should naturally separate from the whole.

Once the garlic is broken down into cloves, leave them in the bowl. Then, cover them with the second bowl, joining the two rim-to-rim while pressing them firmly together. If one bowl is smaller than the other, it will be easier to enclose the garlic between them. After holding the bowls tightly together, give them a vigorous shake. But be careful not to separate the bowls. As Martha Stewart promised on her show, the skins will effortlessly peel off the cloves, making it seem almost magical.
