The prosecutor, Kevin Kendridge, revealed that Anderson was apprehended with the substance on December 26, 2023. The Daily Mail reported that the incident occurred in a pub near the actor's London home. The establishment's manager called in the police after noticing a potent smell of crack emanating from the disabled toilet following Anderson's exit.

When authorities arrived, Anderson was reportedly in the company of a young man and a 17-month-old child.

The actor's attorney argued that Anderson "is often recognized and tries to cater to his fans by embracing his character." According to this line of defense, Anderson, who portrays Arthur Shelby, didn't use crack in the restroom but "found himself in an unfortunate situation and lacked the courage to disapprove" of such conduct in his vicinity verbally.

Following the conclusion of "Peaky Blinders" in 2022, Paul Anderson participated in the film "Leap into the Skies," which recently premiered on Netflix.
