Paul Pogba free to play again but still clubless after ban
After completing an 18-month suspension for doping, Paul Pogba is eligible to play soccer again. However, the 2018 World Champion still hasn't signed a contract with a club.
Paul Pogba, a well-known French footballer, has completed an 18-month suspension for using dehydroepiandrosterone, a testosterone derivative. As of March 11, he is free to play again; however, he still hasn't found a new club. Pogba hasn't played in an official match since September 2023, and his contract with Juventus Turin ended in November.
Although Pogba maintains his physical fitness by training in Miami, where he lives with his family, he has yet to sign any deal. The 32-year-old midfielder dreams of returning to the French national team and playing in the 2026 World Cup. To achieve this, he must get back into competitive league play.
A member of his entourage assures that Pogba trains at full capacity and is in good spirits. The footballer reportedly received many offers, but they were not interesting enough as he admitted. During one of his rare public online appearances in January, Pogba mentioned proposals from Russia, which he does not intend to accept, as that direction is not his goal.
Potential directions
One of the options for Pogba is the American MLS league, where the transfer window remains open until April 23. Another possibility is Japan, where clubs can recruit until March 26. Pogba met with David Beckham, the owner of Inter Miami, and on February 23, he watched a match against New York. However, this does not mean he will sign with an MLS club.
Pogba remains in contact with Didier Deschamps, the coach of the French national team, who advises him on sports matters. Despite the challenges, Pogba does not lose hope of returning to top form and playing again on the international stage.
