The career renaissance of Pamela Anderson occurred in the 90s, but the media still actively follows her actions and speculates about her past, an increasingly common focus for filmmakers. Despite objections from the involved parties, the series "Pam & Tommy" was released last year, depicting the tumultuous relationship between Anderson and Tommy Lee. A few months later, the revealing documentary "Pamela: A Love Story," which shed light on the beginnings of her fame, premiered on Netflix. The star has also discussed painful childhood experiences that cast a shadow over her later life.
In the documentary, Pamela Anderson describes an incident where she was sexually abused by a nanny. "I wanted to kill her"
Throughout Anderson's three-decade career, she has maintained a notably provocative image. Recently, however, the Canadian star has been experimenting with her look. Her "unconventional" style and makeup-free face have become an integral part of her public appearances. During the recent Paris Fashion Week, the 56-year-old featured in shows with a natural look, which sparked a lot of online discussion. Not everyone, however, has embraced her new "look".
Pamela Anderson quits makeup. The 56-year-old shares what inspired her to do so
Much like Alicia Keys once did, the star of "Baywatch" felt so content with her natural look that she completely gave up wearing makeup. In her recent interview with "The Daily Telegraph," Anderson shared that over the years she has stopped worrying about superficial things, which she finds "very liberating." The celebrity renounced the desperate pursuit of a youthful appearance and consistent visits to the beauty salon. The 56-year-old is firm that she fully accepts herself and wants to present this "real her" to her fans. Even while filming her show "Pamela's Garden of Eden," the famous "Playboy" bunny refrains from wearing makeup.
"I wanted it to be real," she revealed. "I didn't want everything to be perfectly lit and contrived. I just needed to be myself. I felt that I had to uncover the real me. It was incredibly liberating."
Anderson's breakthrough came right before her journey to the French capital for the Fashion Week there, when the actress decided to "take it easy".
"When I went to Paris Fashion Week, I decided not to wear makeup and I really felt like that five-year-old girl from Ladysmith [a city in Canada], only dressed in Victoria Beckham's clothes," she recalled.
The star admitted that she was taken aback when her new appearance was labeled as a sort of manifesto in the media, something she claims was never her intention.
"I felt so free. It wasn't supposed to be a manifesto, I wasn't advocating for world peace in that way. I didn't even think anyone would pay attention to it. I'm not spending three hours in a makeup chair. I looked in the mirror and told myself, 'You're almost 60 years old, it's okay. Just enjoy Paris, don't play this game.'," she concluded.
