Paddy Pimblett joined the UFC in 2021. He has five wins under his belt and is currently in the final stages of preparation for a bout against Bobby Green, set to take place in July in Manchester.
The commotion disrupted Paddy Pimblett's preparations. The Englishman is explaining his behavior during the Euro 2024 final to his fellow countrymen. In the match, Spain defeated the British Isles' team 2-1.
The athlete has previously admitted that he doesn’t root for the England national football team. On Sunday, however, he took it further by ostentatiously celebrating Spain's decisive goal while rudely insulting the English fans around him. The recording quickly went viral on social media.
Paddy Pimblett explained his behavior by the bet he won. He had bet money on Spain's victory in the Euro 2024 final, which heightened his excitement.
Many people are making a big fuss about this video, so I’m posting it again for everyone to see. I made a bet with a few friends in the pub, and if England had won, I would have had to pay three thousand pounds (around $4,173). Ten minutes earlier, England had tied the match 1-1, so I had to reciprocate with joy, writes the UFC fighter.
That’s exactly how I felt, winning three thousand almost in the last minute of the match. Anyone who says they wouldn’t celebrate a win like that is crazy, adds Paddy Pimblett.
