During injury time in the match between Independiente Medellin and Atletico Nacional, a dangerous incident occurred when a knife thrown from the stands struck Pablo Ceppelini in the head. Fortunately, the player was not seriously injured and finished the game.

Pablo Ceppelini, an accomplished Uruguayan soccer player, boasts a wealth of experience at 32 years old. His career includes stints with notable clubs like Italy's Cagliari Calcio, Romania's Universitatea Cluj, Slovenia's NK Maribor, and Mexico's Cruz Azul.

At the beginning of this year, Ceppelini rejoined Atletico Nacional after a four-year hiatus. He currently competes in the Colombian top league and other prestigious tournaments.

The last game, which ended in a 2:2 draw between Atletico Nacional and Independiente Medellin, will be unforgettable for Ceppelini. This esteemed rivalry brought over 40,000 fans to the Medellin stadium, where one fan's deplorable behavior marred the event.

In the dying moments of the match, someone from the crowd hurled a knife, hitting Ceppelini in the head. Footage available online suggests it was a small-sized pocket knife. Nonetheless, the event posed a grave danger.

Despite the shock and physical pain from the incident, the resilient Uruguayan player did not suffer major injuries and could continue playing till the end.

The entire episode unfolded under the watchful eye of a female assistant referee standing about three feet away. She was the first to notice the knife heading toward the pitch. It remains to be seen if the individual responsible will face any consequences or if Independiente Medellin, the home team, will be held accountable for the incident.
