The parish priest of the cathedral during the Saturday Mass (September 30) in the presence of the priests' parents and grandparents acknowledged that after the recent scandal that took place in the presbytery in Dąbrowa Górnicza, the diocese is "suffering in great pain and shame."

He also mentioned Bishop Kaszak, who presided over the Holy Mass during the annual pilgrimage of priests' parents and grandparents to the Sosnowiec cathedral.

My dear ones, we gather at a very difficult time for our diocese, which is suffering great pain and embarrassment. With our presence and prayer, we want to support our shepherd, Fr. Bishop Gregory, who is deeply affected by the current situation - said Fr. Jan Gaik, the pastor of the cathedral parish in Sosnowiec.

Fr. Gaik called the present time a test of faith. - Let's come out of this sad situation strengthened and united before the Lord. It's easy to be together in times of joy and satisfaction. Let's show with the greatness of our faith that we can be together now. Christ suffered a lot, felt pain and sadness, but after Good Friday came Easter Sunday - said Fr. Gaik.

The Bishop of Sosnowiec thanked for the support and prayers during a solemn mass. - I am extremely grateful for your efforts, for the sacrifices and upbringing. For always being there with your children. For not leaving your sons and daughters, and for supporting them. Not only with prayers, but also with a heartfelt gesture.

- Sometimes a word of criticism is necessary when you need to tell a son or daughter that such behavior is not acceptable. I am immensely grateful for this - added Bishop Grzegorz Kaszak.

Priest Tadeusz Isakowicz-Zaleski, in a conversation with o2.pl a few days ago, emphasized that after the recent scandal Bishop Kaszak should resign from his position as soon as possible, or submit himself to the pope's evaluation.

In my opinion, the honorable way out for Bishop Grzegorz Kaszak is to make himself available to the Holy Father or to resign. Then, a change in the position of the ordinary can only be for the better, as it will begin to put things in order - pointed out Fr. Isakowicz-Zaleski.
