According to reports, Orban visited the tourist state of Kerala, accompanied by businessman Krishna Kumar, who runs an Ayurvedic healing center in Hungary. The Prime Minister is said to have toured local landmarks such as the Mattancherry Palace and the Santa Cruz Basilica.
Indian media reported that Orban traveled in a convoy of tuk-tuks that underwent rigorous checks. Driver Hussain Siddiqui, who had the opportunity to transport the Prime Minister, admitted that, according to local media reports, he made Orban laugh by suggesting they "get into a Ferrari. "
Orban stayed at the five-star Fragrant Nature Hotel, according to Hungarian MEP Akos Hadhazy. The cost of a night's stay at the hotel starts at 100,000 forints (over $270 - editor's note). Hadhazy asked who covered the cost of the bodyguard's suite and what the Prime Minister was doing in a luxury hotel during a war crisis.
