From all indications, the global premiere of the OnePlus 12 smartphone seems set to occur in January 2024. The available information about this model reveals one key feature: an incredibly bright screen.

OnePlus has forged a strong reputation in the market thanks to its phones, often labeled as "flagship killers." Although there was a seeming decline in their performance and speed over time, there has been a recent surge in popularity. The OnePlus 11 model proved to be an impressive phone, and now the next model, the OnePlus 12, is on the horizon.

Experts in the smartphone industry anticipate that the global premiere of OnePlus 12 will happen in early January. They also referred to a "OnePlus 12 series," suggesting that the market might witness at least two new models from this Chinese manufacturer. It's unclear whether these will be the flagship smartphones OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12 Pro, or OnePlus 12 alongside an entry-level phone, the OnePlus 12R.

Predictions suggest that the OnePlus 12 will showcase a 6.82-inch diagonal display. The manufacturer will likely choose an LTPO technology panel again, but this time from BOE instead of Samsung. A key specification is not just a high 2K resolution but also an incredibly high peak brightness, with some sources pointing to 2600 nits, while others suggest as high as 3000 nits.

Mobile device performance test results on the internet suggest that the OnePlus 12 may come with the newest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and 12 GB RAM (in the base model).

Expected specifications of OnePlus’s upcoming “flagship killer” include a triple primary camera system composed of a wide-angle lens with a Sony Lytia sensor, a telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a 48 MPix ultra-wide-angle lens. The phone will also likely have a battery that supports 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.
