This is truly a unique piece of art. One of the 34 GTOs with a hand-crafted Tipo body and the only specimen with a more powerful, 4-liter (approximately 4.2 quarts) V12 used by the Ferrari factory team.

The racing debut of this piece took place at Nürburgring in 1962, during a 621-mile struggle. The car finished first in its class and second in the overall classification.

It then also participated in the 24-hour Le Mans race, but it didn't finish due to an overheated engine. After a few years, the Italians restored the original specifications, including the 0.8-gallon engine, and sold the vehicle to a private collector.

Since then, the car has had several owners, appearing at annual gatherings and events. In 2011, it even swept the main prize at the elegance contest on Amelia Island, and now it has gone to auction.

RM Sotheby's, the intermediary in the transaction, assures of the excellent condition of the vehicle and confirms its originality. The entire history, including racing episodes, is fully documented, which will surely affect the final amount. Whether the presented copy will break the price record, we will find out after November 13, 2023.
