Odesa under fire: Russian drones strike residential areas
Ukrainian authorities report a massive Russian attack on Odesa. The head of the president's office conveyed that there were initial reports of casualties. Russian drones struck an apartment building and a shopping center.
"Odesa is burning, and Russian drones are hitting civilian objects in the city. There are casualties," shared the head of the Ukrainian president's office on social media.
According to local media reports, Russian drones targeted a residential complex and a shopping center. Many shops and service establishments were also damaged.
The mayor of Odesa reported that most explosions are heard in the city's southern districts. The Air Force had earlier warned of the threat from drones flying in from the Black Sea.
The head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, Oleg Kiper, appealed to the residents of Odesa and the Odesa region to remain in shelters. "Threat of mass drone attack! Stay hidden!" emphasized the official.
