Obi Ndefo, an actor known for the "Dawson's Creek" series, passed away at 51. Five years ago, he lost both his legs in a tragic accident. His family and colleagues posted farewell messages online.

Obi Ndefo, known mainly for his roles in "Dawson's Creek" and "Stargate SG-1," passed away at 51. His sister, Nkem Ndefo, shared the news of his death through an emotional Facebook post, in which she expressed her understanding of her brother's passing while feeling simultaneous heartbreak.

Obi Ndefo has died

Obi Ndefo, a graduate of the prestigious Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, was valued for his roles in popular TV series. From 1998 to 2002, he played the brother-in-law of the character portrayed by Katie Holmes in "Dawson's Creek." His talent was also recognized in the series "Stargate SG-1," where he appeared between 2000 and 2005. Ndefo's portfolio also included performances in productions such as "The West Wing," "NYPD Blue," "Crossing Jordan," and "The District."

Mary-Margaret Humes, who played Dawson's mother, Gail Leery, in "Dawson's Creek," bid Ndefo farewell in a touching Instagram post. She described him as a "sweet warrior" whose perseverance in the face of life's adversities and enduring love will remain unforgettable to her.

In August 2019, Ndefo was involved in a car accident in which he sustained severe leg injuries. Doctors decided to amputate them. This motivated him, as he became an inspiration for many people, encouraging them to fight for their own lives.
