Multiple tornadoes and hurricanes were reported across many central states on Wednesday night. Many households and businesses were destroyed and damaged.

A series of tornadoes, thunderstorms, and violent winds moved eastward across the Midwest overnight. Illinois, Michigan, and Ohio were mainly affected, where tornado warnings were issued on the night from Tuesday to Wednesday.

According to the New York Times, In total, over 3 million people were under a tornado watch. These climate catastrophes resulted in the closure of many roads and the grounding of flights from O'Hare Airport. Moreover, as the aforementioned outlet reports, thousands of citizens were cut off from power.

According to ABC News, wind speeds in the Chicago area were as high as 82 mph.
