Novak Djokovic lost to Carlos Alcaraz in the final of the Grand Slam Wimbledon after a three-set battle. When he received the commemorative platter from Duchess Kate, he had the opportunity to have a short conversation with her. At the press conference, he revealed what he said to her.

The competition at the Grand Slam Wimbledon came to an end on Sunday (July 14). The men's singles final was played on the event's last day. For the second year in a row, Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz and Serb Novak Djokovic faced off in the title match.

In 2023, their match was played at full length, and Alcaraz celebrated the final triumph. This time, the Spaniard dominated his opponent and defeated him in three sets - 6-2, 6-2, 7-6(4).

It must be admitted frankly that the heroes of this event were not only the tennis players but also Duchess Kate. Despite undergoing chemotherapy due to a diagnosed cancer, she appeared at the final, as she does every year, where she presented the trophies.

Thus, Duchess Kate made her second public appearance since the announcement of her health issues in March. She presented Djokovic with the commemorative platter for his participation in the final, giving him the opportunity for a brief conversation with the 42-year-old. This topic was raised at the press conference.

- I've said to her that it is very nice to see her in good health. She seems to be in good health. That's obviously very positive news for everyone in this country but also for Wimbledon, for Championships to have Her Royal Highness here, of course with her family members. It's amazing. It's incredible support they've been giving over the years to this tournament. I know that she and her sister have played tennis for a very long time. So they truly respect, admire the game. They also understand tennis, which is great. It's wonderful to have that kind of support from the Royal Family - confessed the Serb.
