Pentagon spokesperson Major General Pat Ryder stated that there is evidence suggesting North Korean soldiers took part in the battles near Kursk and incurred casualties, including both fatalities and injuries. However, he noted that detailed information regarding the number of casualties is not available.
North Koreans on the frontlines
Earlier, the Ukrainian military intelligence (HUR) reported that "on December 14th and 15th, 2024, in the areas of the villages of Plekhovo, Vorozhba, and Martynovka in the Kursk Oblast of the aggressor state Russia, the army of the DPRK suffered significant losses; at least 30 soldiers were killed or wounded" - noted in the communiqué.
At least three North Korean soldiers were also reported missing near the village of Kurilovka.
"Due to the losses, assault groups are staffed with fresh personnel, particularly from the 94th Independent Brigade of the DPRK Army, to continue active military operations in the Kursk region" - wrote HUR.
On Sunday, the "Khorne Group" published a video on Telegram showing the moment of the attack on North Korean soldiers.
Meanwhile, the "evocation.info" team obtained exclusive materials from the Kursk Oblast capturing two North Korean soldiers during storming operations.

"It seems that the Russians are using North Koreans as cannon fodder, ruthlessly sending them to the front line," commented the Ukrainian team fighting against Russian disinformation.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported at the beginning of November about the presence of 11,000 North Korean soldiers in the Russian Kursk Oblast, bordering Ukraine.
By the end of November, HUR noticed that the involvement of the DPRK army in the war on the side of Russia poses a threat to Ukraine, South Korea, and Japan, as "some North Korean military will die in Ukraine, while others will return ready for modern combat operations and will be able to work as instructors in the DPRK army," which has one and a half million soldiers.
