North Korea has sided with Russia in the war in Ukraine. Kim Jong-Un's soldiers are directly involved in the conflict, and initial reports of skirmishes are emerging online.

The Ukrainian Minister of Defense, Rustem Umerov, confirmed the information about the clashes between Ukrainian and North Korean soldiers. However, he refrained from revealing their exact locations, noting only that these were minor skirmishes.

It remains unclear what agreement Putin made with Kim resulted in the decision to send North Korean units to Ukraine. The North Korean dictator is most likely expecting military technology support or resources.

North Korean soldiers become captivated by online content

For soldiers from North Korea, who are cut off from most of the world, being in Ukraine can be an overwhelming experience. They are experiencing war, especially one so violent, for the first time. Many might not return to their homeland.

Media reports have surfaced about how North Korean soldiers are spending their time at the front. It appears they have gained frequent access to the Internet. Nexta, referencing information by Gideon Rachman, an international affairs journalist for the "Financial Times," highlighted the North Korean soldiers' growing fixation on pornographic films.

It's crucial to remember that access to pornography is strictly prohibited in North Korea under Kim Jong-Un's regime, with distribution and viewing punishable by up to 15 years in prison and even the death penalty for significant quantities. Consequently, in North Korea, people only have access to the national Intranet and remain uninformed about the wider world.
