High-ranking North Korean generals may be on the front lines in Ukraine, claims South Korean intelligence. According to unofficial information, "key officers" from the FSB were involved in the deployment of North Korean troops.
It was also reported that North Korean soldiers are having difficulty with training due to the language barrier, which is why they are learning over 100 words in Russian.
Meanwhile, there have been reports that North Korean soldiers clashed with the Ukrainian army on Friday. This was supposed to have occurred on October 25th in the Kyiv-controlled Kursk region in Russia. Jonas Ohman, head of the well-known Lithuanian NGO Blue/Yellow, provided this information. The organization has been helping Ukrainian troops since 2014 and has firsthand access to information on the front lines.
"Need for weapons"
The head of the Ukrainian president's office, Andrii Yermak, said on Monday that the allies' sanctions are not enough as a response to North Korea's involvement in the war. Ukraine needs weapons and a clear plan to prevent further involvement of Pyongyang in the war taking place in Europe, he added.
The head of Volodymyr Zelensky's office shared on Telegram that North Korean troops are already present in Russia's Kursk region, near the Ukrainian border, confirming earlier statements with South Korean verification. He noted that both NATO and Ukraine's allies are now aware of this situation and emphasized that North Korea's military participation in the Ukraine conflict represents an escalation.
