North Korea unveils new strategy against US, allies
Kim Jong Un announced North Korea's adoption of its "toughest strategy" against the United States, South Korea, and Japan, reported state television KCNA on Sunday.
Kim Jong Un revealed a "change" in relations with Washington, Tokyo, and Seoul during a plenary session of the central committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.
"This reality clearly shows to which direction we should advance and what we should do and how," stated Kim Jong Un in a directive quoted by KCNA. However, specific details of the new strategy were not disclosed.
In a propagandist message, KCNA claimed that the trilateral alliance between South Korea, the USA, and Japan has transformed into a "nuclear military bloc," and that South Korea has become an "anti-communist outpost" of the USA.
Pyongyang wants to develop cooperation with Moscow
During the meeting, which took place from December 23-27, the communist party authorities of North Korea also pledged to promote relations with "friendly" countries.
In the past year, North Korea signed a military agreement with Russia that includes a commitment to mutual defense.
Washington and Seoul criticized the military cooperation between the two countries, including the deployment of North Korean troops to fight on Russia’s side in the war with Ukraine.
