Nine crashes on A4 highway near Chemnitz leave five injured
On the A4 highway between Dresden and Erfurt near Chemnitz (Saxony), there were nine accidents involving about 25 vehicles. Authorities confirmed that five people were injured, including two seriously.
These accidents occurred Sunday afternoon before the Berbersdorf junction, heading towards Chemnitz. According to the police, there was a brief storm at the time of the incidents, according to the DPA agency.

At the same time, there was also an accident heading towards Dresden. There is currently no information about injuries in this incident. In total, 25 vehicles were involved in the pile-up.

Starting at 9 AM ET, the highway was closed entirely toward Chemnitz. Rescue operations and subsequent road cleaning were expected to continue until late evening.
