In September 2024, Nicole Kidman bid farewell to her 84-year-old mother. An insider from "Daily Mail" claims that after this difficult experience, the actress is contemplating moving to Sydney. Initially, the star threw herself into work and took on too much. "Everyone is worried: how much more can she endure?" the source mentioned in a conversation with the British portal.
"I'm in shock and need to see my family"
As soon as Nicole Kidman learned of her mother's death, she immediately canceled her participation at this year's Venice Film Festival, where she was to receive an award for Best Actress. The star was already in Italy, but she called off the ceremony.
"My heart is broken (...). I'm in shock and need to see my family. This award is for her. She shaped, guided, and created me," Nicole Kidman emphasized in a statement provided through Halina Reijn, the Dutch director.
Soon after, a touching post appeared on the actress's Instagram account. The star thanked fans for their support and expressions of sympathy.
"My sister and I, along with our family, want to thank you for all the love and kindness we felt this week. Every message we received from those who loved and admired our mom means more to us than we can express in words. Our whole family thanks you for respecting our privacy as we care for one another," she communicated via social media.
