Who hasn't heard about "Longlegs" yet? Half the world has been talking about the horror movie starring Nicolas Cage, mainly due to its excellent promotion. The film has broken records and earned millions. When will it be available online?

"Longlegs" hit theaters on July 10. It tells the story of FBI agent Lee Harker (Maika Monroe), who, thanks to her supernatural abilities or perhaps just extraordinary intuition, gets assigned to a years-long investigation into the elusive serial killer, Longlegs. Although the viewer suspects who commits the crimes from the start, the finale is still a big surprise. Before the premiere, Nicolas Cage’s appearance was kept a big secret. In the trailers, only his voice could be heard. In the film itself, he appears in the initial sequence, in a past scene shot in a 4:3 format. When a small, defenceless girl faces Longlegs, viewers do not see his entire face, only his chest and pale lips (photo above).

"Longlegs" earns millions worldwide

New data shows that the earnings of the film directed by Osgood Perkins have surpassed $100 million, and let's add that this production cost less than $10 million. It is the highest-grossing horror movie in theaters in recent decades, but also one of the few R-rated films to achieve such success. However, as we know, the best-performing adult-oriented film this year has been "Deadpool & Wolverine," which raked in over a billion dollars worldwide.

Meanwhile, many people are wondering about the online release. The film's creator announced the release of the production in digital format and on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD. On August 23, you can enjoy the film in the comfort of your home, and additional formats will appear on the market a month later, on September 24 – Collider reports.

The film will be available on Prime Video and AppleTV+ for $24.99.

Nicolas Cage plays the titular killer, creating an unrecognizable character. Directed by Perkins, the film focuses on a dark mystery involving a killer hunting young girls whose actions are inspired by a cult of dark powers.

"Longlegs" offers more than just surface-level horror, with references to occultism and deeper layers of a disturbing plot. Perkins is already announcing future projects that will keep viewers equally on edge. One of them is an adaptation of a Stephen King story, which will premiere in February 2025 and, like "Longlegs," promises to be a significant event for genre fans.
