The horror movie "Longlegs" will be released in cinemas on July 12. The production has been gathering excellent reviews, but details related to Nicolas Cage's role are being kept highly secret. "That is an experience I will never forget"—this is how actress Maika Monroe described a key scene with the Hollywood star.

There has not been such interest in a horror film for a long time as with "Longlegs." It is becoming increasingly challenging to scare genre fans, but all indications are that the film's creators with Nicolas Cage have managed to do so. The Rotten Tomatoes portal has collected 24 reviews of "Longlegs." All of them give the production the highest marks.

The star of "Longlegs" is Nicolas Cage, but we don't see him in the movie trailer (we only hear the terrifying tone of his voice). His role is kept highly secret. The actor has taken on the role of a serial killer, a beast in human skin. Critics compare his character to Hannibal Lecter from "The Silence of the Lambs."

The central character of the film is a young and inexperienced FBI agent, Lee Harker (Maika Monroe), who is thrown into the deep end. She is assigned to the investigation of the serial killer. Soon, the protagonist discovers a personal connection to the murderer, initially complicating the situation, but it may also help catch the criminal.

Maika Monroe recalls the key scene with Nicolas Cage: "I remember [Perkins] coming to me initially with the idea; he was like, ‘I don’t think you guys should meet. I don’t want to show you any photos.’ And I was like, ‘OK, yeah, sure—whatever. It does not matter; my performance will be the same.’ I was very chill about it…. I walked through the door, saw [Cage], and it was a day I will never forget. He was incredible. From an actor’s standpoint, I can adapt to, really, anything; you kind of have to, as an actor. But that is an experience I will never forget. And I’m very, very grateful for that."

Meanwhile, viewers can't wait for the movie's premiere. "The most anticipated horror movie of the year for me," "The best serial killer horror since 'The Silence of the Lambs,'" "Nicolas Cage will haunt you in your nightmares" – we read in the comments under the trailer.
