New video reveals chilling moments before Trump assassination attempt
A new recording has appeared online showing the moments preceding the assassination attempt on Donald Trump. It shows the assailant freely running on the roof of a building during the former US president's speech.
On July 13, the world was shaken by the news of the attempted assassination of Donald Trump. 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks shot at the former US president. The man was shot dead shortly after the attack.
A new video has surfaced online showing the assailant freely running on the roof of one of the buildings shortly before the shooting.
At 12:08 PM, the man was moving opposite the place where Trump was speaking. After running across the roof, the figure in the video appears to crouch and take a position to shoot.
At the same time, Donald Trump was speaking at the rally, unaware of the impending danger. The clip cuts off just before the shooting begins. Three minutes later, around 12:11 PM, Thomas Crooks pulled the trigger of an AR-15 rifle. He shot Donald Trump in the ear. The bullets also hit three men in the audience. Shortly thereafter, snipers shot the assailant.
The video footage comes from the phone of James Copenhaver, one of the three men who were injured during the attack. The 74-year-old was shot in the arm and stomach. The second twice-shot individual is 57-year-old David Dutch. Both men are slowly recovering.
The third person shot was Corey Comperatore. The 50-year-old died from sustained head injuries.
