Many people who work in front of a computer screen experience eye problems. Their eyes become dry and tired and alternately burn and tear, which can lead to vision-impairing erosion.

Dr. Karan Rajan, an ophthalmologist known on social media, assures that his method can significantly reduce the eye problems faced by people over 40 without eye drops or visits to ophthalmic offices.

In his TikTok video, the doctor explains that when we concentrate on intensive work in front of a computer, we blink less than normal, which causes our eyes to dry more easily and quickly.

Of course, to prevent this, the doctor recommends limiting caffeine, getting more sleep, reducing stress, and spending less time in front of a screen. However, it is known that implementing these changes daily is not easy.

You can deal with dry, irritated eyes by regularly using eye drops or placing a warm, damp flannel on your eyelids. However, Dr. Rajan has a simple and effective way to combat this, which he shared with internet users.

If you’re using screens a lot, stick to the 20/20/20 rule – Dr. Rajan recommends and explains – Every 20 minutes, take a break and look at something at least 20 feet away, for at least 20 seconds.

The Royal National Institute of Blind People also shared Dr. Rajan's method and confirmed its effectiveness. Additionally, scientists emphasize that computers do not cause permanent changes in the eyes or worsen eye diseases.

If you’ve got a window near your workspace (...) then looking at outside objects might be an easy way to ensure you’re peeping far enough - writes the Huffington Post.
