As reported by "The Sun," in 2020, he received an invitation to Prince Andrew's birthday party, which indicated his close relationships with members of the royal family. Additionally, Yang was present, supporting the prince amid numerous controversies and scandals that affected him.
As a result of an investigation, Yang lost an appeal against the decision to ban him from entering the UK, which was imposed due to national security threats. Judges determined that he was not truthful about his connections to the Chinese state, and his close relationships with the prince and other influential individuals could threaten the interests of the UK.
