In its press release, BMW announced the decisions of its supervisory board. Facing the entrance into a new era in the brand's history, the Germans are currently focusing on stabilization.

BMW is currently on the verge of an entirely new era, which was effectively inaugurated by the premiere of the concept model Neue Klasse. It is this that is to become the base for electric models, which are to transform the brand. The premiere of the first car of the new generation Neue Klasse is to take place in 2025.

So it's not surprising that BMW is currently making strong preparations to start a new stage. New decisions of the Bavarians' supervisory board, however, show that they are aiming for stabilization and leading the revolution by those who started it.

According to the supervisory board's announcement, the contract of BMW's current CEO, Oliver Zipse, has been extended until 2026. The German has held this position since 2019, and the supervisory board acknowledged that Zipse has very well guided the brand through the difficult times of the pandemic and crisis - hence the vote of confidence given to the current general manager.

In reality, there was only one significant change in the top positions of the BMW Group. The former head of BMW's Chinese branch, Jochen Goller, has become the new head of the corporation for sales, customers, and brands. Goller replaced Pieter Nota in this position, who was part of the BMW board for the last six years.
