New Russian ground forces leader: Mordvichev's chilling vision

Gen. Andrey Mordvichev has been appointed as the new commander of the Russian Ground Forces. A video has surfaced online in which he clearly states that the war in Ukraine is just the beginning. Mordvichev is responsible for the destruction of Mariupol.

There has been a change in leadership for the Russian Ground Forces. Gen. Oleg Salugov's successor is Gen. Andrey Mordvichev, a 49-year-old military officer and former commander of the Central Military District.

Media reports indicate that Mordvichev's career has progressed rapidly due to his role in the capture of Mariupol, where he led the forces that ravaged the city. The new Russian commander is being pursued by Ukrainians for alleged war crimes, as he is reportedly responsible for orders to kill civilians and destroy infrastructure.

It is said that the Russian commander has mastered the tactics of so-called "meat assaults," a combat method that contributed to the capture of Avdiivka. This approach is ruthless toward soldiers, involving massive infantry assaults where human losses are disregarded—the sole aim is to dislodge defenders from their positions. The Russians utilize their numerical advantage to capture additional territories.

The Russians have a new commander. His words are chilling

Nexta recalled a conversation with Gen. Mordvichev from some time ago, in which, two years prior, the Russian military officer implied that Ukraine is only an "intermediate stage" and "this is just the beginning." In his opinion, there is no stopping until Russia's goals are achieved.

It's important to remember that even Vladimir Putin, when discussing peace talks regarding Ukraine, emphasizes the "original causes" that need to be addressed. These are very clear: Russia wants a subjugated Ukraine that it intends to Russify and aims to influence Central and Eastern European countries. The Kremlin is also considering restoring economic ties with the western part of Europe, such as through the sale of raw materials. Additionally, Russia seeks to push the U.S. out of the eastern flank. Many experts agree that this interpretation reflects Putin's intentions. It couldn't be clearer.
