New "Prison Break" expected to surprise fans
The "Prison Break" TV show was a huge success from 2005 to 2009. It's now making a comeback in an entirely new form that deviates from the original production, and this is expected to surprise fans.
"Prison Break" was filmed for the Fox Network and enjoyed significant popularity throughout its run. It garnered numerous awards and received nominations from the Golden Globes and Emmys. Four seasons and a TV movie entitled "The Final Break" were produced until 2009. In 2017, an additional 9-episode series was added to the franchise.
Besides the TV show, "Prison Break" inspired various adaptations, including a video game and spin-offs. Currently, Hulu has officially announced plans to revive "Prison Break". Elgin James, known for his work on "Mayans M.C." and "Lowriders", is expected to helm the next series.
Early information suggests that the new series will be a reboot, excluding Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell), Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller), and the rest of the original cast. Given that 18 years have elapsed since the premiere of "Prison Break", newer generation viewers might not be affected by this change. However, these modifications might come as a surprise to old fans.
