After Porsche unveiled the refreshed 911 GT3 last month, brand enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the new GT3 RS. Until that happens, they can enjoy another premiere based on the current edition: a version crafted by Manthey Racing.
Porsche holds a 51% stake in this German team and is increasingly leveraging its expertise. The car in the photos is the best example of this collaboration. It's an extreme racing vehicle, yet it still has road homologation.
As you can easily notice, aerodynamics was the priority here. In addition to the enormous rear wing, the body is distinguished by the absence of a rear window and full rear rims. There are also additional air intakes and a substantial diffuser. These features mean that the downforce at 177 mph reaches one ton.
The 911 GT3 Manthey Racing also received an updated suspension with stiffer springs and racing shock absorbers, ensuring excellent handling on the track. Composite brake pads are designed to withstand more aggressive driving.
Specialists from Manthey Racing dedicated as much as two years to creating this project. They now plan to test its performance on the Nürburgring. As a reminder, the production 911 GT3 RS conquered the "Green Hell" in 6:49. The version modified by Manthey is expected to be even faster.
