Google Maps regularly undergoes changes, which are not always received positively by users. This time, one of the modifications is at least controversial, and there will probably be quite a few dissatisfied users.

Google Maps is constantly evolving. It had been certain for several weeks that changes would be made to the navigation bar. Currently, there are five options: Explore, Start, Saved, Publish, and Latest.

After the changes, users will only have three options: Explore, For You, and Publish.

The first and last tabs will remain unchanged, with even the icons staying the same. "For You"—a new option—will be a set of updates previously found in the "Latest" section, reports antyweb.pl.

Surprising change in Google Maps

The second change can be considered controversial. It has already appeared for the first users. Some thought it was a mistake, but we are dealing with deliberate action.

It turns out that when setting a route with multiple stops, the only feedback will be the travel time. The estimated distance will disappear.

For now, Android users notice this new feature, but it is probably only a matter of time before it also reaches iPhone users. As usual with Google, their updates roll out to us in waves, states the mentioned source.
