Netflix's 'Break Point' under fire: Season 2 omits major Zverev controversy

The premiere season of "Break Point" received lukewarm reviews on Netflix due to the absence of several important plot points.

Viewers expected the series-makers to take these criticisms into account and make valuable improvements in the second season. However, when the new season was released on Wednesday, January 10, it appeared that no significant changes had been made.

An entire episode was dedicated to the German tennis player Alexander Zverev, which incidentally, turned out to be the longest one. As it happens, both the German and British media drew attention to a significant omission in the narrative, namely a narrative involving allegations of violence and the imposition of a hefty fine.

"Zverev's allegations of domestic violence, which he denies, are not only absent but entirely ignored. This whitewashing of his image in such a distasteful manner further undermines the credibility of this series," stated the British newspaper, "The Telegraph."

"The allegations of violence against Zverev hold no relevance on Netflix. There's no mention of a hefty fine of 450,000 euros. The information could have been included, but Zverev, who denies all allegations, is fighting the verdict by all means possible. His legal advisors have barred him from commenting on this matter," reported the German press, "Bild."

This choice made by the producers has soured viewers' opinions of the second season of the series. This dissatisfaction is primarily due to the episode featuring Zverev and the noticeable omissions therein.
