Following the Rockstar Games announcement about "Grand Theft Auto 6", which caused quite a stir online, Netflix responded by letting subscribers know that they would be able to play "Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition" as early as December.
Netflix to add "Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition" to its roster
From today (November 29), fans can pre-register to play "Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition". This includes the genre-defining titles "Grand Theft Auto III", "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City", and "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas", all of which have been updated for mobile devices," according to the announcement.
This is undoubtedly a strategic move by Netflix, given that Rockstar is set to release the first trailer for "Grand Theft Auto 6" in December. The individual titles of the trilogy were previously available on mobile devices, but not in the "definitive edition". I recently wanted to play "Vice City" on my smartphone, but it branched out a message indicating that this game version is designed for devices with older software.
To add to the excitement, thanks to Netflix, the revitalized trilogy will arrive on smartphones just in time for the holidays. After all, everyone deserves a little break from assisting mom with preparing Christmas Eve dishes or helping dad shovel the stairs in anticipation of family visits and Santa's arrival.
