NBA's tallest and shortest reunite: Iconic photo goes viral

This photo is destined to become legendary: Gheorghe Muresan and Muggsy Bogues stood side by side. They are, respectively, the tallest and shortest basketball players in NBA history. The two players have a height difference of 28 inches. Interestingly, these players were once part of the same team, and you might recognize Bogues from the movie "Space Jam".

Gheorghe Muresan, also known as Ghiță, is 7 feet 7 inches tall, making him officially the tallest player in NBA history. His height was matched by his skills. The Romanian played for teams, including the New Jersey Nets and Maryland Nighthawks.

On the other hand, Muggsy Bogues is known not only to NBA fans but also to those of the movie "Space Jam". Standing just 5 feet 3 inches tall, he played one of the main roles in the film. Bogues was a world champion with the USA national team, and in 1997, he led the league in three-point shooting.

Gheorghe Muresan and Muggsy Bogues both played for the Washington Bullets (now Washington Wizards). However, they never had the chance to be on the court together for the same team. Muggsy Bogues played for the "Wizards" in the 1987–1988 season.

Meanwhile, the Romanian player represented the Washington Bullets from 1993 to 1998. Besides his basketball career, he also ventured into acting, including a role in the movie "My Giant" with Billy Crystal.

The club publishes photos of its legends. They posted such a photo

Although Bogues and Muresan never had the opportunity to play together on the same team, they did know each other from NBA matchups. Years later, they reunited as retired players. The Washington Wizards posted a photo of their meeting on their Instagram profile.

The photo highlights the striking difference between the shortest and tallest players in NBA history. A height difference of 28 inches separates the two former players. Bogues barely reaches Muresan's shoulder.

Gheorghe Muresan is not the only "record-breaking" player to have represented the Washington Wizards. The team also included Manute Bol, who was a few millimeters shorter. Interestingly, Bol played one season on the same team as Bogues.
