Victor Wembanyama became part of the NBA in 2023. Without any hesitation, the San Antonio Spurs selected him in the draft. This talented Frenchman possesses outstanding skills and superior physical abilities, standing tall at 7 feet 4 inches.
As it turns out, his lengthy surname can be a mouthful for some fans, and it often gets mangled. However, on Friday night rolling into Saturday, a more significant mishap happened when San Antonio Spurs' staff scrambled his surname.
In this incident, Wembanyama took to court against the Golden State Warriors with the name "Wembanyana" on his jersey. An 'n' was mistakenly used instead of an 'm' in the second-to-last letter of his surname. The error was noticed, and the Frenchman changed his jersey.
"I can't guarantee if anyone will be fired, but my jersey was checked before the game. I just can't understand how this could have occurred. It's embarrassing," he remarked.
San Antonio Spurs ended up losing to the Golden State Warriors with a final score of 112:118. The team, which also regularly features Jeremy Sochan, is currently on an unfortunate run of eleven consecutive losses. Despite the defeat, Wembanyama demonstrated his talent yet again. During his 35 minutes on the court, he scored 22 points, made 9 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 blocks.
