NBA star Anthony Edwards in hot water over alleged abortion messages to pregnant Paige Jordae

These messages surfaced on the account of Paige Jordae, who is known online as "Dream Paige". They included communications from Edwards and a snapshot of a positive pregnancy test. The nature of the player's messages has been particularly shocking.

Edwards allegedly wrote, "I can't do this", "I don't want a baby", and "get an abortion lol". Jordae informed him that she had previously had an abortion two years ago, a decision she deeply regrets. Edwards suggested that she should take abortion pills and even record the process. Jordae also posted a screenshot of a bank transfer from the NBA star, amounting to $100,000.

In response to the controversial leak, the Minnesota Timberwolves player released an official statement, in which he did not deny the conversation:

In a rush of emotions, I made comments that are not reflective of what I believe and the person I aspire to be. Every woman should be supported and empowered to make decisions about their bodies and what's best for them. I am currently addressing my personal issues and won't comment any further on this matter - he wrote on Platform X.

The scandal coincidentally broke out just a week after Edwards' girlfriend, Jeanine Robel, announced on social media that she is expecting a child with him.
