NASA has released a photograph with Christmas elements seen from space. In the image, a cosmic Christmas tree is visible, its stars swathed in a green veil, with blue and white dots glinting between them, notes the German news outlet "Bild".

Scientists at NASA decided to share this remarkable image with the world. However, it's worth noting that the image isn't completely natural. The agency has indeed modified it to some extent.

"Bild" explains that the image of the star named "NGC 2264" was rotated by 160 degrees. As a result, it now appears as if a Christmas tree is located within the Milky Way.

So, what does this image depict exactly? It reveals emissions of X-ray radiation that were recently discovered by a satellite named "Chandra", explains "Bild".

The stars comprising this cosmic Christmas tree are relatively youthful, ranging from one to five million years old. They are situated in the Milky Way, approximately 2500 light years away from our planet, Earth, note the Germans.

An intriguing fact is that NASA decided to create a cosmic Christmas atmosphere last year as well. During that time, it published an image showcasing a cluster of galaxies shaped like a Christmas tree. This image was produced with the Hubble Space Telescope and infrared light, according to the outlet "Bild".
