Ukraine has developed a secret strike drone called "Morok" with a range of 497 miles and a warhead weighing 66 pounds, reports the Ukrainian Military service. Such configuration makes it a dangerous weapon that Ukrainians can use to conduct strikes both on their own territory and beyond its borders. Ukrainians are currently fundraising to purchase 100 of these types of drones for the army.

As explained by the Military, the collection is being conducted by the Serhij Prytyła Foundation, which is involved in, among other things, the purchase of tactical equipment, medical kits, and vehicles for the Ukrainian military. From the information published on Facebook, it appears that it costs 175 million hryvnias to purchase 100 "Morok" drones, which means that the estimated cost of one device is approximately 1.75 million hryvnias.

The new kamikaze drone "Morok" was first presented to the world in September this year. Its photos were published on social media by the Ukrainian Security Service. At that time, information also appeared that it is a drone with a range of 497 miles, capable of carrying a warhead weighing 66 pounds. Based on available photos, experts determined that the drone is equipped with one engine. They also drew attention to its unusual shape.

The Defence Express service has reported that the entire construction lacks a "front flap and has a vertical stabilizer, hence we're dealing with a relatively rare tailless configuration in contemporary aviation". Such solutions could be encountered in supersonic aircraft produced at the turn of the 60s and 70s of the 20th century. As examples, Defence Express mentions the Dassault Mirage fighter aircraft, the Tu-144 passenger aircraft, or the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird strategic long-range reconnaissance aircraft.

"Morok" could power the intensively developing Ukrainian drone army, which is regularly enriched with new unmanned aerial vehicles produced by the domestic defense industry. It will join such drones as the "Bóbr", which we recently described. These devices are classified as loitering ammunition. From available information, their range is even about 621 miles (some sources say about 870 miles) and they cope well with Russian anti-air defenses. Most likely they can move at a speed of around 93-124 mph. However, "Bobry" have a different design than "Morok" drones. They have been designed in a duck arrangement, which allows for a quick change of flight altitude to avoid enemy anti-aircraft defense.
