In Moscow on Tuesday morning, a bomb explosion occurred, leading to the deaths of the commander of the Russian radiochemical and biological protection forces, Gen. Igor Kirillov, and his assistant. According to Meduza, citing Russian investigative services, the explosion took place on Ryazansky Prospect, approximately four miles from the Kremlin.

Reports indicate that the bomb, with a blast power equivalent to 0.44 pounds of TNT, was hidden in an electric scooter. The shock wave was so powerful that it shattered windows on three floors of a nearby residential building and knocked out entrance doors.

Investigators and forensic experts are working at the scene to explore the explosion's circumstances. Meduza and the Reuters agency reported that an investigation into this matter has already begun.

Accusations against the US regarding biological weapons

Gen. Kirillov was known for conducting briefings for the Russian Ministry of Defense, during which he accused the United States of developing biological weapons in Ukraine. He alleged that the US had devised a method for releasing "disease-carrying mosquitoes" toward enemy troops.

The explosion in Moscow is yet another incident that has unsettled the Russian capital. Investigators are working to determine who is behind the attack and what the motives might have been. Russian media are continuously updating information on this topic.
