Morgan Freeman, known for his role in the movie "The Shawshank Redemption," was spotted on November 24th in Los Angeles, enjoying a dinner with friends at Giorgio Baldi restaurant in Santa Monica. The 87-year-old actor chose a casual outfit: a flannel shirt, a black cap, and black pants. American media noted that he wore a beige compression glove on his left hand. What's the story behind this?
Morgan Freeman: A serious car accident
A few years ago, at the age of 71, the actor survived a serious accident. He is suspected of falling asleep at the wheel, causing his car to veer off the road. The vehicle flipped over, and unconscious, Freeman had to be rescued from the wreckage by firefighters. He was hospitalized after the incident.
As a result of the accident, Freeman suffered a major injury and nerve damage to his left hand, which has been paralyzed since then. He must wear a special glove to prevent blood pooling in that area. Additionally, the actor suffers from fibromyalgia, which causes constant shoulder pain and contributes to stiffness.
Despite these challenges, Freeman remains professionally active. Soon, he will appear in three new movies, including "Now You See Me 3," in which he reprises his role as Thaddeus Bradley. He also appears in the TV series "Lioness" on the SkyShowtime platform.
When asked how he maintains his position in Hollywood, Freeman responded: "Acting is easy. Getting work is hard. So, what you have to do is just keep moving forward. Just keep trying." In a conversation with Jennifer Hudson, who praised his achievements, Freeman modestly stated: "I’m not too far out of the ordinary, I hope."
