Fruit vinegar, particularly apple cider vinegar, is typically purchased from stores, but it can be homemade as well. The process is quite simple, requiring just patience and perseverance. For those reluctant to prepare it themselves, opting for live vinegar, which is unpasteurized and nutrient-rich, is recommended.
Combining honey and apple cider vinegar for overall health
This blend provides significant support for stomach function, making it a perfect prelude to heavy eating festivities like holidays and New Year's Eve. Apple cider vinegar is a potent source of probiotics that aid digestion and enhance gut health. It imparts a sustained feeling of fullness, helping us avoid overeating and constant snacking. The effectiveness of this mixture led me to test it, and the outcome - a flat stomach - is the object of my friends' envy.
Together, honey and apple cider vinegar serve as an effective remedy for viral and bacterial infections, as well as for managing symptoms like coughs. The mixture is beneficial for those with high levels of bad cholesterol, acting as an anticoagulant and protecting the circulatory system against atherosclerosis. It's advised that the drink be consumed on an empty stomach, either straight (two tablespoons) or diluted in water.
How to create the honey and apple cider vinegar blend
Ingredients:
- 2.65 pounds of apple purée or apple cores and skins,
- 0.4 gallons of warm boiled water,
- 5.3 ounces of honey, with an additional 1.7-3.5 ounces per quart of vinegar during the next fermentation stage.
Preparation:
- Wash the apples and remove any rotten parts. Grate the apple flesh.
- Place the prepared pulp in a tall container, and add warm water and 5.3 ounces of honey immediately.
- Set the container aside (uncovered) for 10 days in a dark setting with a temperature of 68-86 degrees Fahrenheit, stirring thrice daily.
- Once the period elapses, strain the beverage through a cloth into a clean, wide-opening container.
- Add honey (1.7-3.5 ounces per quart).
- Shield the container with a cloth and keep it in a warm spot.
- The blend is ready when it takes on a light hue and stops bubbling, typically after 40–60 days.
- Transfer the mixture to a bottle and refrigerate.
