What do you need to know?

  • The military parade is planned for June 14th, coinciding with the 250th anniversary of the founding of the U.S. Army and President Trump's birthday.
  • The parade will feature active-duty soldiers, reenactors, and equipment from various historical periods, including the World Wars and the Vietnam War.
  • The march is planned for the National Mall in Washington, D.C., with more than 6,000 soldiers expected to participate.

The White House has confirmed plans to organize the event as part of the initial phase of the country’s year-long 250th anniversary celebrations. White House Director of the Domestic Policy Council, Vince Haley, stated that the commemorative parade is intended to honor the service, sacrifice, and dedication of those who have served in uniform and lost their lives defending what is considered one of the most profound experiments in freedom.

The U.S. Army's anniversary coincides with the 79th birthday of President Donald Trump, which also falls on June 14th.

The parade is set to include active-duty soldiers, reenactors, equipment, and other elements from the Revolutionary War, Civil War, Spanish-American War, both World Wars, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Gulf War, and the global War on Terror.

More than 6,000 soldiers are anticipated to participate in the march at the National Mall in Washington, D.C. The media reported on the parade plans back in March; at that time, the White House denied those reports.

Trump has succeeded. There will be a grand parade

During his first term, Trump expressed a desire to organize a military parade, inspired by the parade he attended during the French national holiday in Paris on July 14th.

These plans were previously canceled due to criticism over the costs. The current parade is part of the year-long celebrations of the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence.
