Microsoft's copilot set to redefine team collaboration and management
Don't be surprised if, at the next company meeting, it turns out that the coordinator of the new project is Copilot. Microsoft believes this is the future of work.
So far, Copilot—Microsoft's artificial intelligence based on the GPT model—has primarily been promoted as a personal assistant, aiding in daily tasks in both private and professional life. However, the American giant now wants to take it a step further. Copilot is intended to become, as described in the presentation, a "valuable team member."
Team Copilot - virtual collaborator or manager
Team Copilot is a new version of Microsoft's artificial intelligence to which tasks and duties related to office work can be assigned. The company provides examples where Team Copilot can act as a meeting moderator, group collaborator, or project manager.
The tool's creators point out that Team Copilot will be able to, among other things:
- manage meeting agendas and take notes in the Teams app;
- support employees in better performing their duties and solving problems;
- oversee project execution by assigning tasks, tracking deadlines, and informing team members of their required contributions.
The Team Copilot service will be tightly integrated with Microsoft's office applications, such as Teams, Loop, Planner, and others.
Team Copilot - when will the tool be available?
Microsoft informs that the preview version of Team Copilot will be available to Copilot for Microsoft 365 license holders before the end of the year. However, due to strict EU regulations, residents of Europe will have to wait a little longer.
