Michele Pfeiffer, best known for her roles as Selina Kyle in "Batman Returns", Elvira Hancock in "Scarface", and recently Janet Van Dyne in the "Ant-Man" movie series, may not be as prolific as she once was, but remains an iconic figure in Hollywood.

Like her industry peers, the 65-year-old actress also maintains an active presence on social media. On Instagram, where over 3 million people follow her, she shares glimpses of her private life. It was on this platform that a recent photo depicting Pfeiffer with a black eye was revealed. So, What transpired?

The actress sustained an injury while playing pickleball - a game bearing similarities to tennis, which has been rising in popularity in the USA of late.

The incident was discussed by Pfeiffer on "The Drew Barrymore Show."

"The first thing that came to mind was 'I'll have to cancel my visit to Drew's show again!'" shared the actress, about a prior mishap, a stye, which had also prevented her from making it to Barrymore's show.

Pfeiffer elucidated the circumstances that led to her black eye. It occurred during a pickleball match last Thursday, in which her sisters Dedee and Lori along with their friends participated.

"It was Lori's friend who hit me in the eye. Of course, he was terrified. He couldn't utter a word, he couldn't even look at me," Pfeiffer recalled.

From a comment on Pfeiffer's Instagram post from her sister, it is evident that the "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" star continued playing the game despite her noticeably severe injury.
