Michael Jordan has made the list of the 400 richest people in the "Forbes" magazine in the United States, mainly due to the sale of the Charlotte Hornets. His fortune is estimated at 3 billion net dollars and he is the first professional athlete who has appeared on the aforementioned list.

As reported by "Forbes", Jordan earned 94 million dollars over 15 seasons in the NBA and was the highest paid player in the league in 1997 and 1998.
The greatest profits came from his off-field activities - his wealth was multiplied through partnerships with brands like McDonalds, Gatorade, Hanes, and Nike. The last annual check from Nike amounted to 260 million dollars.
Cooperation with Nike
Let's recall that the brand expected profits from sneaker sales to be around $3 million. Two months after their premiere (in 1985) sales had already reached $70 million and hit $100 million by the end of the year.
In its latest annual report, Nike recorded $6.6 billion in annual wholesale revenues for the Jordan brand, an increase of 28.6 percent compared to the previous year.
"Over the years, Jordan has been involved with other businesses, including car dealerships, restaurants, a premium tequila brand, and recently capital investments. He bought, among other things, CLEAR, Mythical Games, Dapper Labs, as well as DraftKings and Sportradar" - reports "Forbes".
