In a recorded conversation, Jackson shared his feelings with his trusted friend Rabbi Shmuley Boteach.

"I loved her so much. She was definitely my type" - he said regarding the late Diana.

Interestingly, Michael Jackson alleged that Prince Charles perceived him as a threat.

The iconic singer had several significant romances over the years with well-known figures like Lisa Marie Presley and Brooke Shields. However, it appears that Princess Diana was his lasting, unrequited love.

Jackson's bodyguard, Matt Fiddes, revealed to the "Daily Star" that the singer spent thousands of pounds for the opportunity to converse with Diana at Kensington Palace in the evenings.

"Michael told me that he was in love with her and wanted to marry her. She was his ideal wife" - Fiddes conveys.

In reality, Jackson had the chance to meet Princess Diana in person only once.

Two ostracized figures in the broader world

They first met during Michael's performance in London during his Bad concert tour in 1988. Diana attended the performance accompanied by Prince Charles. The recorded footage reveals them exchanging smiles from the moment they were introduced.

This acquaintance eventually evolved into a robust, enduring friendship.

"Michael felt that Diana was the only person in the world who could grasp his life situation in terms of limited freedom to go out as well as media narratives that spiraled out of control. Invasion of privacy, total lack of solitude, harassment of their children... They both were burdened by immense pain due to the roles they inhabited" - Matt Fiddes recounted.

Following Diana's tragic death in a car collision in 1997, Jackson was grief-stricken. He responded by cancelling a series of concerts and immersing himself in mourning.
