Melania Trump breaks silence, hints at active political comeback
The former First Lady, Melania Trump, is known for her infrequent public appearances. This time, however, she made an exception for a significant reason - she announced her grand return.
Since leaving Washington in January 2021, Melania Trump has largely stayed out of the public eye. In November, she was seen at a memorial service for former First Lady Rosalynn Carter in Georgia. There, she joined forces with current First Lady Jill Biden and former First Ladies Michelle Obama, Laura Bush, and Hillary Clinton to honor Carter.
In December, Melania spoke at a citizenship ceremony at the National Archives in Washington. She recounted her own journey to becoming a U.S. citizen and the obstacles she faced along the way.
Melania Trump steps away from the spotlight
Melania has been absent from political events supporting her husband since his campaign launch in November 2022. She was also noticeably absent from the numerous court hearings Donald Trump attended, facing 88 charges across four different cases.
Last year, when asked if his wife would join his campaign, Donald Trump mentioned it would happen "very soon."
“She is a private person, terrific, very confident, and deeply loves our country. And frankly, I prefer to keep her out of it. It’s so nasty and mean (referring to the campaign)," Donald Trump commented in September on NBC’s Meet the Press.
Sources close to the Trump family have mentioned to CNN that Melania is primarily devoted to raising their son, Barron. The 18-year-old is set to graduate from high school in Florida this spring.
Melania Trump stands by her husband once more
Last Tuesday, Melania Trump, the former First Lady of the United States, publicly appeared with her husband, Donald Trump. Their joint appearance to cast votes in the Florida presidential primaries has fueled speculation about her active return to the campaign trail.
“Stay with us,” Melania Trump told reporters with a smile when asked about her return to campaign activities.
