Trump threatens: We will say we're quitting
Later that same day, Trump himself confirmed the news.
"Now if, for some reason, one of the two parties makes it very difficult, we're just going to say, 'you're fools, you're horrible people,' and we're going to just take a pass," Trump said during the swearing-in ceremony of television personality Dr. Mehmet Oz as the overseer of state health insurance.
Nevertheless, Trump expressed optimism and hope that he would manage to bring an end to the conflict, claiming that there is "really good chance" for this. When asked whether he believes Vladimir Putin is "playing him" Trump replied that "nobody is plying him" but added that it will become clear in the coming days.
