"It would resemble the infamous Apocalypse, the end of everything," Dmitrij Medvedev says, describing how Russia might respond to a potential war with NATO countries. The former president is known for his regular, threatening declarations in the media.

Medvedev criticises Western leaders

Polsat News reports that, in the opinion of the former President of Russia, Western politicians treat their citizens as 'brainless idiots'. He believes they should instead convey the 'bitter truth'. According to Medvedev, these politicians insist on the need to prepare for war with Russia, even though Moscow has never expressly stated that it plans to go to war with NATO countries.

Medvedev also alleges that the objective of Western leaders is to manipulate public opinion. He suggests that this manipulation serves to convince voters of the supposed necessity of directing vast sums of money towards aid for Ukraine.

Absurd scenario foreseen

"If such a war were to occur, it definitely wouldn't progress as a special military operation," Polsat News quotes the words of the former Russian president. "The response would be asymmetrical. We would employ ballistic missiles and manoeuvring ones with special warheads to safeguard our country's territorial integrity," he further warns, reiterating that such a situation would resemble an apocalypse.

Medvedev acknowledges that any attempt at military confrontation with Western countries would likely not end favourably for Moscow. He recognizes that NATO's military capacity considerably outstrips Russia's capabilities.
