Medvedev hints at expansion: New Russian regions on the horizon
Dmitry Medvedev is formulating perilous plans. "New regions may appear within Russia," stated the former president, referring to the annexed Ukrainian oblasts. He added, "this experience [of occupying four Ukrainian oblasts and Crimea – ed.] may prove useful in the future."

Much of the information provided by Russian media or government representatives is propaganda. Such reports are part of the information war conducted by the Russian Federation.
During the United Russia party congress, Dmitry Medvedev discussed his political agenda, which he described as "development of new regions."
"This experience [of occupying four Ukrainian oblasts and Crimea – ed.] may prove useful in the future if new but very close regions appear in our country," stated the deputy chairman of the Security Council, alluding to the four Ukrainian oblasts the Kremlin annexed in 2022.
Medvedev on Ukraine's choice
Earlier, Medvedev remarked that Ukraine faces a choice: to be with Russia or disappear from the world map.
In October 2022, Vladimir Putin signed a law to incorporate the four annexed oblasts (Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson) into Russia, following pseudo-referendums conducted by pro-Russian authorities. Medvedev referred to these regions as "Donbas" and "Novorossiya," claiming that they had been part of Russia for centuries.
