Medvedev hails Putin's overwhelming win amid election legitimacy concerns
Dmitry Medvedev launched another critique against the West, this time delivering sharp commentary on the outcome of Russia's presidential election. "Congratulations to all of Russia's enemies on the splendid victory of Vladimir Putin," Medvedev declared.
It's important to recognize that many pieces of information distributed by Russian media or authorities are considered propaganda. These reports are part of an informational war waged by the Russian Federation.
The exit poll results announced by the Russian agency TASS on Sunday evening showed that Vladimir Putin secured over 87 percent of the votes in the presidential election held on Friday. This news prompted a reaction from Dmitry Medvedev, the former president of Russia and the current deputy head of the Security Council.
"Congratulations to all enemies of Russia on Vladimir Putin's splendid victory in the Russian Federation presidential election! And thanks to our friends for their support," Medvedev remarked on the X platform.
Vladimir Putin emerged victorious in the presidential election, garnering over 87 percent of the votes, as disclosed by the official Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation website on Monday morning.
Moreover, the elections were held contrary to international law in temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories, including the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol, and the regions of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson. Voting also occurred in Moldova's Transnistria and the Georgian regions of South Ossetia/Tskhinvali Region and Abkhazia. "Organizing 'elections' in these areas under such conditions cannot grant them legitimacy, freedom, or fairness," the Ministry's statement declared.
